A good friend of mine served in London during the Blitz helping with Barrage Balloons and at one time she was stationed in the Tower of London. Every night the same ritual would occur....after the Tower was locked up the guard would apprach the main gate and the following dalogue occurred:

'Who goes there?'
'Keys'
'Whose keys?'
'The Kings Keys!'

No-one else woud have been in the area so late and no-one could have approached except the people carrying the keys yet the same dialgoue took place ragardless!
