Sad and tragic things happened during the war, but I'll tell you about some of the funny things I remember. Ted Goble was a Special Constable and on duty over where the shops are on Southwold now, one night. They were cracking down on people, particularly the servicemen, riding two on a bike. He’d been told to flash his torch at them. On this occasion, he also thrust his truncheon in their spokes, but it was two chaps on a tandem!
