I was 2 ½, when I had to leave London. I remember it being a cold day; we went to Paddington station where we caught the train to Cornwall.
It was quite fun on the train, my father and I went to the dining carriage, I sat opposite an army officer, he was quite tall and in uniform. I saw him eating a liquid stuff and I asked him what it was he replied “its soup” That was the very first time I saw soup.
