I was born in Liverpool in 1942, in Bootle, at the time my dad worked in Birmingham. I was kept here as it was safer, then I was taken to Birmingham to be with my mum and dad as I was brought up by my grandparents. But after a short time I was taken back to my grand parents, so I don’t remember playing with children as adults surrounded me.
