I don't particularly remember VE day, it didn't mean anything to us in Greece, but I do remember VJ day, the real end of the war. I was Prosecuting Officer at the Division Court Martial Centre set up to deal with all the bad boys from the Division who were being rounded up all over the Med and brought back for trial. The night before we wondered whether we should have the day off or not, but decided to go ahead anyway. I believe we go through three Courts Martial that day. We did, however, have quite a party in the evening.
