I personally don't remember a lot about the war - I was born in 1939. But I do recall going to the Prisoner of War camp in Cookstown and giving the German prisoners 5 Turf or 5 Pasha, or 5 Woodbine cigarettes to have them make a toy. I actually had the toy at my home in Cookstown and when my father died in 1977 I went over and that was one of the things that I gave to my brother to ship over to me here. Unfortunately he never did and my stuff was all lost - including the toy that the prisoner made for me.
