Hal.Evans Today.

Message 1

Immediately after the war, it was a very different world to what it is today, I was eighteen years of age and just starting to go out to dances and meet members of the opposite sex.

Happily, there was no significant use of illegal drugs or binge drinking, girls were regarded by gentlemen with respect and the ladies conducted themselves with dignity.

I was brought up by a loving widowed Mother who had a deep faith in the Lord and we were taught morals and standards to live by, the use of prostitutes was taboo and one lived by a strict moral code until one decided to look for a life partner in Marriage.

There was a strong law which most people respected and Murder or even accidental killing was punished by hanging, so one kept away from brawls and fights, knowing what the penaly was if anyone lost their life due to fighting.

No alcohol was allowed in our home and gambling was banned, also, playing cards were regarded as implements of the Devil, so I never saw a pack of cards until I was older, consequently, even today at an age of seventy eight years, I cannot and have never been able to play cards.

I have always been gratefull for being born into a Christian home and being taught to be honest, truthfull sincere and spotless clean, qualities which I still practice today, some people may say that at my advanced age, I am a Dinosaur
and extinct but if that is true, I don't have any regrets.
