The day that North Strand was bombed I was to take my 1st Holy Communion and this man came along and asked where we were going this time in the morning because it was 6am. Our clocks had stopped so we were too early. We went home to wait but I couldn't eat my breakfast before Communion, still I went to take a piece of toast and I got my hand slapped.

I looked so nice - white dress with lace and a little bag. If I got any dirt on it I was in trouble.
