This story has been typed on behalf of E.M Bridle, whose story it is.
On D.Day I was stationed in Guildford, Surrey, at the Queens Regiment - the cap badge was the Lamb & Flag. Very early in the morning, before dawn, all the camp was woken by the sound of aircraft. Everyone ran out and saw all planes, with the white stripes on the wings and all at different heights. All the ATS girls, in our blue striped winceyette pyjamas, all shouting and screaming. It was a sight I shall never forget.
