I served in the Grenadier Guards from 1944-52 and saw sevice in the UK, Palestine, Malaya and the Canal Zone. A book that as just been published by Helion is "An Active Service". Richard Dorney is the author. It is the story of a Grenadier, Sid Dowland, who joined the Regiment in 1935. In WW2 he served in the SAS and SBS. He was captured but escaped back to the UK. He returned to the Regiment and saw service in the 3rd Battalion after WW2 in Palestine and Malaya.
Worth reading if you served in any of these units or campaigns. John Edwards
