This story is a diary which my Auntie Gwen wrote in 1941. It passed to her sister (my Mum) when she died in 1978, and came into my posession when my Mum died. I found it a fascinating account which not only was about daily life in Portsmouth during the war,it was also the year she got married. As it was only written in pencil I decided to type it up before it was lost forever.
I guess the best way to do this is to pick out the most interesting excerpts of the Diary.
I will carry on with this as soon as I have worked out how to transfer the document from Word!
