My sister Lizzy and i were evacuated to Duloe Cornwall. We stayed with a nice couple who had a young daughter Barbara. One day we were playing in the field behind the house when we heard the sound of an aeroplane, it was very loud, we looked up and saw a german aeroplane coming down with smoke coming from it. It tried to machine gun us we could see the pilot very clearly. "Quick" my sister said, "hide behind the stones and lay down". The plane crashed in a field furthur away. We felt the stones saved us, we now know the stones formed a circle called a druid circle. We also used to hear all the time the planes going over to bomb Plymouth and other big cities.
