The boat which was carrying my Dad and others was on its way to the beach at Dieppe. Everyone around my Dad was getting killed. I think his c.o. maybe said it, or he just decided it for himself that he'd better have his last cigarette. He was bitterly disappointed that he didn't like the brand he had.

I'm glad he survived. I believe his favourite brand was Macdonald's Export A.
