I was born in 1933, so I don't remember too much about the war. However, I do remember the black-outs. We lived in a small cottage on Bog Height Road at the Blackburn - Darwen boundary. There was an empty cottage across the road from us and a comapny of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard used it as their base.

They used to do drills at the front of the cottage and I remember watching them from my window.
