Just one image of 66 taken Christmas 1946 at Hanover Barracks.

After serving in the Normany campaign and fighting their way into Germany, the Somerset Light Infantry found themselves serving in occupied Hanover until well after the end of the war. The Somersets' NCOs were invited to a party at the Wiltshire Regiment's Sergeants' Mess in the Christmas of 1946-47 at Hanover Barracks.
My father, Fred Wheeler, was there in the company of a lovely,dark-haired Irish lady, with whom he kept company at the time. A pack of photos somehow came into his possession and it is time to try to make them available to surviving members (or relatives) of the assembled company.
So far, I can post only one photo to this site. I hope to add more. You can leave me a message on my personal page if you are interested.
I have no names for any of the personnel in the photos but there are some wonderful character faces in the collection.
