My father was a paratrooper in WWII, He never realy talked a lot about his experiences during this period but there was one story he did tell, He said that he and his platoon entered this town, they discovered that the bank had been bombed and they found thousands of german notes, enough to fill suitcases ,he said that they could have been millionares but unfortunatly they were not worth anything so they used them as toilet paper as there was a great shortage of this commodity.
