It was a strange time really: the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard used to amuse me. The Earl of Powys had a section and he’d opened up the old armoury supplies, and you should have seen the type of weapons they had! They’d have ridiculous old muskets and plenty of old shotguns.
This story was submitted to the People’s War site by Becky Barugh of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Shropshire CSV Action Desk on behalf of Ron Gamble and has been added to the site with his permission. Mr Gamble fully understands the site's terms and conditions.
