I lived in Franchise Street, Kidderminster during the War. Sutton Road ran parallel to Franchise Street and convoys of British troops and equipment went down there. Then when U S soldiers came over they would send long distance convoys along Sutton Road. Late in the day long distance convoys would camp, they would turn off Talbot Street into the park and camp for the night. When they left in the morning the trees would be festooned with condoms!
I knew the girls at school with me, who later gave birth to various coloured babies, I was old enough to be aware of what was going on, but too young to be involved.
There were several groups of U S soldiers locally, there was a U S hospital at Wolverley and one at Bromsgrove, that became the Princess of Wales Hospital
