During the war, whilst everyone else was busy planting vegetables as part of the dig for victory effort my father came up with a scheme to grow tobacco. He laid the entire small garden aside to Angelica in the hope of creating liquid tobacco.
Unfortunately his plan did not turn out to be a success and the next spring we planted out vegetables, much to the relief of my Mother.
