HARRY, WAS IN THE BEDFORDSHIRE YOMANARY,419 HEAVY BATTERY,52nd RA.FROM 6thJUNE 1944, UNTILL THE END OF THE WAR , HE KEPT A PERSSONAL ACCOUNT, PLUS THE OFFICAIL RECORDS OF HIS UNIT.THIS FROM SETTING OFF, FROM LARKHIIL,HIS BC BEING MAJOR E R D PALMER,THEY HAD 4GUNS,155mm,18 VEHCLES.ON THE 10 JUNE AT 2200 THE COVOY ARRIVED OFF JIG BEACH,BUT NOT ALLOWED TO UNLOAD UNTIL HIGH TIDE AT 0030 .ON THE 11th JUNE SUITABLE LANDEING WAS FOUND, AFTER 3 ATTEMPS ON KING BEACH AT LA RIVIERE INSTEAD OF JIG BEACH.CODE WORD LONGFELLOW.
