My brother, Len, was prematurely bald. A Staff Sergeant in REME, he was posted to the REME admin unit at New Delhi. One day he was assured by an Indian fakir that his baldness could be cured. So for the two years he served there, every day the fakir rubbed his bald head with a mixture of goose fat and chicken droppings. On his return to the UK he did have a half inch fuzz on his head but no friends!!
