My mum and dad were married in 1939, but after only 2 weeks my dad who was in the RAF, was posted overseas to Egypt and they did not see each other for another 4 years.
It must have been very strange for them to meet again after all that time and perhaps it would have been like meeting strangers. Anyway, it must have been OK, because I was born about 9 months later!
