Robert Ellis's story began when he was working at Leyland Motors in 1942. He had just been over talking to a lorry driver and was on his way back to his department when a bomb dropped at Farington, Leyland Plant, he had to find a place to hide, there were bricks and other things flying about. Unfortunately the lorry driver was killed by the bomb, Robert was very lucky that he survived.
The bomb killed 4 people.
