As an evacuee in the war the Guides and Brownies of which I was a member decided to put on a concert for the Canadian troops who were billited in the village where I was evacuated, the hall was full an I was dressed as a farmer with a dirty face and the Brownies were rabbits while we sang Run Rabbit Run. all went well but the next act was a group of ballerinas performing Swan Lake. I must have looked very funny as I was one of the ballerinas but I had not had the time to remove the make up off my face, Was my face Red, errrr! I mean Black!
