my granda told me time after time about how he got the geoge cross it started when they were trying to get on the ships and he refused to get on his shouted go on without me he stayed and shot away to he was hit in the leg he started to flee by hoping on one leg with sevel injured soldiers on his back found a small yact he unloaded the soldiers on and started to sail with guns fire at him so he made a turret and just started distracting them and later on his was clear of the beaches and a provlem proped up the were mines in the water he took the injured soldiers ammo and shot them out of the sky when he returned to dover he was presented with the geoge cross and died 95 years of age in january 20th 1995 but still a warrior in my mind
