I Remember the Doodle Bugs

I shall never foreget one night in 1943.
I was in the air raid shelter with my mother and father The sirene had gone earlier, I was the only one awake. Suddendly I heared a plane in the distance a (doodle bug,) I listened as it got closer and closer, sunddendly the engine stopped. I layed there petrified, expecting it to come down but nothing. Then in the distance I heared an explosion, we heared the next day, the German had started sending over the (doodle bugs)that cut out, then glided over for miles before hitting there target,
That is the night I shall never fore get
