I suppose most people who lived through the war have some memories of the VE Day street parties. We had one in our street - or rather in the back-garden of one of the families in the street. Here is a photograph of that party - unfortunately, I cannot be seen, but my little sister is the little girl at the front on the left, and the boy behind her is my big brother!
