ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½

I was at Powells School in Cirencester during the war. I can remember that at the time there was something going around the school where if you saw somebody who you thought might be a German you had to get them to say the following phrase.

"Wee Willy's wooden whistle wouldn't whistle"

If they replied with, "Vee Villy’s vooden vhistle vouldn’t vhistle" then quite clearly they were German!

The only thing I don't remember ever knowing is what we were meant to do if we ever did come across the enemy!

I also remember, with some fondness, using powdered egg to make a lovely omelette just by adding water and powdered egg mixture. From this you could make small round mini omelettes, although sometimes cakes didn't come out to well.
