I had to go and get the beer for my Mum from the local pub - the "jug and bottle" dept. I was about 10 years old. I used to go to a little window to get the beer in a bottle that held 2 pints. I worked out that the landlord stuck the sticky label over the bottle cork, so it wouldn't get opened, but I worked out you could peel off the label while still wet and have sip down to the level of the star and re-seal the sticky label over the cork before I got home. My mum always said what a tight whatsit for filling it up to the star exactly !
