"On the morning of 18th Feb when the 1/2 Gurka Rifles were attacking Monastery Hill, the troop commander established an OP near Pt.450 and under constant fire Gnr. Wright laid a line to it from Bn HQ to a distance of 800 yds and during the course of the morning still under heavy fire went back down to it three times to mend it. In the morning of 21 Feb his OP officer was hit badly in the arms and legs and losing blood fast. Gnr Wright volunteered to go to Bn HQ and fetch a stretcher which he did under heavy fire, and then helped to carry his OP officer to the RAP."
