The story has been contributed to the peoples war website by age concern and John Salisbury who has given his permission.
My lasting memory of world war 2 is I was only 4 years old when the war was over but I remember as a child. Search lights in the school field, I can see now the lights beaming into the night sky. I can remember my mother saying gerrys here again over Manchester dropping bombs.
