I remember waiting for my dad coming home when the Germans bombed Ransome and Marles, where he worked. He was upset whenhe came in. His mate had got a new bike and the sirens had gone off. He went outside to get his bike and was killed.
I remember being hsoved into the air raid shelter and having my gas mask on and being very frightened.
