This is the story told to me by my father, Maurice Major Tovey. He came over from Dunkirk to Dover on HMS Anthony. There he got on a train and started on the journey to North Wales .His unit had split up during evacuction and he did not have a full compliment of kit. On the way the train stopped in a siding and people working on allotments gave them onions!!! They proceeded to North Wales, to an Army Camp, where they were occupied doing excercises. One day a plane flew close and he and all his mates fell to the ground automatically.
