Leonard Staley was a relation to James (Jim) and g=Frederick Smith who were brother's-in-law. Jim was a petty officer on board the HMS Hood. Fred was in the Merchant Navy and was sunk in the North Sea transporting food to Russia in a Russian convoy. So my mother lost her husband and 2 brothers with a few weeks of each other.
