Recently a 'glass-house' and a 'boot-camp' was a P.O.W. Camp for Bundesweler.

Locals put the numbers at 5000.

There was no mains sewage system, and the foul water ran into the Roman River. You could smell it all around the district.

When The VI's were fired from Holland in late 1944 - the prisoners were heard to cheer. One cut out and landed, exploding at Ham's Farm Upper Hay Lane Abberton/Fingringhoe, about 3/4 of a mile from the KRIEGSGEFANGEN-LAGER.
