My Aunt Flo went to the cinema in Walthamstow (Carlton Cinema). When she came out after the show, she went home only to find rubble where her house once stood and her dog 'yapping' at the only thing left standing which was her front gate.

She, then being homeless, came to live with us in Walthamstow. I myself was about 3 at the time. She made no fuss, had no councelling and just got on with her life. That's what we did in wartime London, LIFE JUST WENT ON, all helping each other.
