My father came home very excited, carrying a brown paper parcel.

He gathered us all round the table, on which he had placed this mysterious item.
Slowly, he untied the string, and carefully removed the brown paper to reveal a large bunch of bananas!

I was only a small child, and had never seen a banana before. In my imagination, I saw a huge, yellow spider, with lots of legs. I ran, screaming, from the room.
Needless to say, I have never eaten a banana since!
