This story has been contributed to the People's War on behalf of Edward Weaver and with his permission.

My older brother John saw a plane land in a field near ross on Wye. The pilot, a young Canadian, got out and asked where he was. My brother told him. He was lost and low on fuel so the village policeman came and mounted a guard on the plane. It was refuelled after a couple of days and flew off.
