My War
Worked Woolwich Arsenal until 18 years old. I volunteered R.A.F. and trained as Japanese Intercept Wireless operator. I got married, sent to India on SS Ranchi.
I was hospitalised with severe dysentery in Bombay. Spent 18 months in Burma decoding Japanese radio messages.
1944/45 I came home to U.K for 1 months leave then back to Singapore and Hong Kong.
1946 Demobbed suffering from jaundice, weighing 8stone. Went on to celebrate 60 years plus married to Vera the girl I wed before I went to war.
