The Army had another large house,Beechmount, with extensive grounds where a whole lot of huts for the soldiers to sleep in.One day there was a strike that missed it blew out all the windows and doors - it killed nobody luckily so the next day everything was removed, the following night they got a direct hit - but it was empty.
Later on it was discovered that someone further along the hiiltop overlooking the medway river valley was a spy and had sent intelligence to Germany about the army activity there.
