I am currently researching a history of DC Thomson comics, focusing on the Beano and The Dandy. I am particularly interested in the comics during the war years, when both carried public service messages and war related stories (both humorous and serious).
Did you read The Beano or The Dandy during the war? What did your comic mean to you? What are your recollections of the comics? Do they stick in your mind for any reason?
Any stories and anecdotes gratefully received!
By the way, if you have any original comics from the war years you're in luck. They are extremely rare and very valuable!
Many thanks in anticipation
