Dad (Paul Bywaters) was 8 or 9 during the war. He lived in Dallow Road Luton. He would go up the Dallow Road Hills to the old armoury and pick up what he could find. He was always getting the cane for it. He brought back home a grenade and lots of bits of old shell. It was near Vauxhall which was where the shells were being made for the war. The area had been bombed by the Germans and Dad liked to pick up old cases.
