I was aged 7 in 1941. My mother sent me to the shop, I was walking down Belbroughton Road in Blakedown. There was a terrific noise up above and an Ack ack shell landed opposite the Swan Pub between two sets of semi-detached houses.
The shell didn’t explode and it was recovered by the Army.
