How kit should be laid out

On occasions when things were quiet there would be a morning kit check and this is how the kit should be laid out, as in the photo, needless to say this is not my kit but one of the better ones, I could never get my boots looking like that . I believe it took a toothbrush handle or a spoon and a tin of boot polish and lots of honing to get that polish
