Dear Daddy,
I received your letter and I don't think you had such a good time as me and Mummy at Christmas, had you? Tomorrow, which will be Tuesday, we are getting the morning off school because Douglas Clark and Aleck Campbell are trying a big examination. As you know, Daddy, I have six schoolbooks and that is a big difference from two, besides my schoolbag is quite fat. I am very angry with you for writing such a short letter. I think you have plenty of time for a bigger one. Have you been wondering how I am getting on at school? Well, I think I am getting on okay. The teacher is going to give us places when she knows what kind of scholars we are. Well Daddy, I think I will stop now. Cheerio, your loving daughter, Jessie XXXXXXXX
