I was born 06.12.23
My service number is
I signed up at the Drill Hall in Lincoln and trained at HMS Gangees for six months
I then went to Chatham for one week.
I was posted to serve with Combined Operations and served as a gunner on flat bottomed landing craft.
I was a starboard gunner and trained to shoot 180 rounds a minute sometimes using three guns at a time
We saw service in the Mediteranian. We landed Scorpian tanks in Digeeli-Avolla. We also landed troops and supplies.
I spent my 21st birthday in Piereas, Greece
