Each morning without fail my Father caught the 7.20 am Tram from the Junction to his work. He was always on time as the journey to work was a bit hazzadous as it was towards the east end of the city. This one particular morning my Mother was not very well and needed some Asprin from the nearby Chemist as they had none left at home. She asked Dad if he would go and get some before leaving to catch his usual Tram. This he did and was rushing afterwards to catch the 7.25am Tram that would take him to work. Just catching it by the skin of his teeth, and halfway to his destination they had to pass the Carnage of the 7.20am Tram that had caught a direct hit by a stray bomb. By the time he was passing they were sadly collecting all the poor souls who had been killed in the explosion. There had been no survivors. That day was my Fathers lucky day, and my Mother had one pain in the stomach that was worth having.
