We feel like magpies or vultures clearing "clearing remains" human remains. Bodies blown to smithereens not much left to identify. A child's boots with feet still inside. A table with only hands visible. No one asks about the clear up BUT this is the worst bit of WAR. Dead, mutilated, gone, loved ones not seen again!!!This is my fathers story. He could never face raw meat and only rarely spoke about the things he saw and dealt with. When war stories are dicussed it is of heroes or survivors not the nitty gritty awfulness of day today life. The clearing up of horror day after day after day!
