Myself and John the Farm Baliffs son were gathering the farms cattle from one field and moving them to the next when a German Aircraft flying overhead very low and scared us half to death. Butterley Way in Buttterley near Swanwick Qualcast used to burn molton gas as a way to guide the poilots overhead. I was only ten years old, seven when the WW2 broke out.
I was sleeping on the sofa listening to the wireless and was woken as they (Germans) bombed "Yellow Yard - Swanwick Derbyshire.
