I remember standing at the end of Rickman's Worth High Street, looking towards Uxbridge and watching all the troops trailing through in preparation for D-Day. I think I must have seen practically every allied nationality go past that day. As well as every type of car, truck, boat and trailer. All making their way to Southampton. It was a very moving experience!
